Thumbs Up

I love coconut flour pancakes, but someone commented that I should try almond flour pancakes and linked to this paleo recipe. I picked up some all-natural applesauce on my last grocery run and had grand plans to give it whirl.

Oh wow. These are amazing. They have both coconut flour and almond flour and the texture is spot on. They have a little bit of apple taste, and it compliments the nuttiness of the almond flour perfectly. I cannot wait to make these again.

Heels are my first love, but I am learning to embrace some flats.
What's next? Am I going to wear Tom's? Crocs?  Who am I?

These are really good. Vegetarian or not, I would highly recommend these. If you don't live near a Trader Joe's, I really don't know what to tell you except for Sorry.

I normally just eat them plain, but I added them to my vegetarian pizza the other night and it was a winner. Who needs meat when you have meatless meat?

NuNaturals Vanilla Stevia is my all-time favorite sweetener, but it looks like I am going to audit that claim and make sure NuNaturals hasn't outdone themselves with something better.

I am especially excited to try the PreSweet Tagatose, which is supposed to brown like regular sugar. My first thought when I read this was caramelized onions.

I'm going to go ahead and give a thumbs down on this Tofurky Tempeh Bacon. I really tried to like it, but it's not happening.

I even gave it a second chance, but it's not good. The texture, the taste, the appearance, everything is wrong.

Anything new you've recently tried that you can give a thumbs up?

I tried Trader Joe's cornbread mix for the first time last week and I have to give that a HUGE thumbs up. I was going to be cool and make my cornbread from scratch, but I definitely didn't have that kind of time, so a mix it was. AMAZING. Seriously some of the best cornbread I've ever had.

Thumbs UP to flats, but thumbs DOWN to crocs!!! Never wear crocs! Haha. Although I love my toms!

Oh my gosh it took me soooo long to embrace flats. When the flats phase entered the fashion world I refused, REFUSED, to try it. Those flat shoes just looked so...weird...with skinny jeans (and don't even get me started on skinny jeans...it took me a while to jump on that bandwagon as well). Now, I love flats but Crocs will never ever EVER happen. Ew.

I love your shoes, where did you get them?

I've become much more excited about flats now that I do public transit and work downtown. However, I'll still be a heels girl for life...

I may have been inappropriately staring at your shoes yesterday at lunch. Apologies. It's just that they are super cute!

Reading the reviews on that pancake recipe are less than encouraging. I have a difficult enough time cooking regular pancakes "low and slow". I can't imagine what would happen if I tried these!

I didn't think I'd ever wear Toms either...but once I put them on I wondered what I had been waiting for!

They are the Nike brand of Cole Haan. My husband found them at Nordstroms rack for a deal.

I still have trouble putting my legs into skinny jeans. I wouldn't be sad if they go out of style.

I use that. I actually split the box in half since I only cook for two

I used to wear mostly heels to work, until one day when I was wearing some giant platform wedges and literally fell on my ass in the middle of my office. No idea what happened, I was just suddenly on the ground. Now I stick to heels that don't have me worried I'm going to break an ankle (or show my underwear at work), or flats ... I now have LOTS of flats. I have a couple pairs of Toms, but only wear them for very casual situations, or commuting. Crocs ... NO, NEVER.
