I Couldn't Be More Proud

In March of last year, this happened

My husband got into an amazing business school. We packed up our life and moved to Chicago. I expected to like it, but I didn't expect to love it (spoiler alert: I now LOVE it!).

School started and the fun began...

When they warn you about the time commitment and work that goes into a full time MBA, they are being polite. Take what you think it is, and multiple that times 3. My husband works his butt off. He is one of the hardest working, most determined person I know, and I feel like a rock star that I landed him.

We've just wrapped up recruiting season. For weeks our lives were consumed with cover letters, resumes, networking, dinners, interview prep, and lots of tough decisions.

Just like I expected, he rocked out his interviews, and this beast landed a fabulous summer internship right here in Chicago. That means that he will be right here WITH ME all summer long. {Insert huge exhale here}

Obviously, we are over the moon. We have gotten so much good news this week, it feels like MAGIC.

Have you ever been a summer intern? Where? Did you like it? I interned at a PR firm in DC and I LOVED it. I loved the people I worked with and DC is an awesome place to be a summer intern.

Hey Sierra! I've been reading your blog for a few months now and really love it but have never commented before! Congratulations to your husband's success in business school thus far! It is something on my agenda eventually... not for a few years though because I'm actually still in the final year of my undergraduate degree, focusing on microeconomics - many people think it's so boring but I find it so fascinating haha! I completed a summer internship with a consulting firm in my hometown of Toronto, Canada for the last two summers but I will not be returning as I'm finishing my degree in Europe, and will be traveling throughout the summer! I loved working there but truth be told, sunbathing in the Greek islands sounds like more fun to me.... :P.

I interned in Chicago at the EPA regional office and LOVED it! Sadly they aren't hiring... But I'm so glad you will be here all summer!

Yay congrats to him! I did a couple internships during college (not during the summer though, during the school year). One was with a very small PR/marketing communication firm which was pretty standard, and the other was at a product design agency (doing PR/marketing) which was a bit more ... interesting. Both were in Chicago. (I went to Loyola and lived in Rogers Park.)
