My 18 miler didn't get much notice since the Tarheels were playing. Please notice the reading material on our counter and the game in the background.
That is a new PDR and I did it alone. That 13:03 is a lie and I averaged a pace of 9:45 per mile. This run was a lot easier than my 16 miler last weekend, but I also prepared a lot better (didn't drink alcohol). It was VERY hard to get out the door, but I felt awesome afterwards and had some really great thoughts and ideas along the way.

Congrats on your PDR!! That's awesome!!!!
Congrats on the PDR! Mine is 13.1 but I hope it goes up this year!
Major congrats! I'm still rocking just over 9 miles because of some knee weirdness, so you're twice as great as me! :)
Woo hoo, congrats! It's funny how one run can be hard, but a longer distance isn't. It all comes down to how you prepare, mentally and physically. Last summer, I think my 16 or 18 miler was hard, but my 20 miler was great. And I remember one step-back week, when we "only" had to do 13 miles, I didn't take it seriously and paid for it.
My PDR is 26.2. I'll be honest, I've kind of been toying with the idea of doing an ultra someday ... just a 50K. We'll see. I'd like to do another marathon first.
Yay! I'm happy your run went so well. What a great confidence booster.
Well done, great run. Now what do you do for water on these long runs? That handheld doesn't look like enough for 30km?
Way to go, Sierra!!
AWESOME! It must've been your lucky day. hehehe :)
Omg. You're a super star. Holy crap, girl!! My PD is um, my half marathon. You make me look weak! GO YOU!
You are so awesome! When I was marathon training, I would never have had the confidence to attempt an 18 mile run solo. On my next marathon attempt though, that is the plan. If you can tackle 18 solo, you can totally tackle this marathon thing. I'm excited for you. :)
That's great !!!!
nice job on the run girl! way to knock that out and great that you felt better than your 16!
Congrats on the PDR! Way to get out there on your own! Mine is from my 50K.
Congrats on 18! I think my favorite marathon training distance is 17. It doesn't feel as long for some reason. Once you start getting up to 18+ is when it really seems to start dragging out. Congrats!
